the countdown begins!!!
as of 08.15.15:
this weekend is all about
and DIY Tri…
600m swim/20km bike/5km run
I don’t like wearing contact lenses. And that has been a real problem for me especially when training. There aren’t many choices available out there. From Sports Sunglasses (I’ll talk about that in another blog), to my daily work-to-training, night and not-too-sunny or not-yet-sunny trainings 👀
More than 2 weeks ago, our group went for an outdoor adventure…and I misplaced or lost my Oakley Crosslink prescription eyeglasses.
But after looking and trying on so many other models and brands, I feel there’s no other choice for me.
I’m still undecided but here I am last night trying on the same model that I lost…or hopefully just misplaced.
Oh, and before I say ciao for now, here are some pics from the adventure that we had 😀
My time is nothing to be proud of but I’m still posting it. I hope to look back a year from now and see how much I improved 😀😅😝😀🏊🏼🏊🏼🏊🏼
Baseline 500m swim
July 29, 2015
04:37sec/100m. (per TP based on 23:03 moving time)
The left side of the picture is from my Garmin account. I can’t edit the 900m it recorded probably due to the many times I stopped midlane (or at about 40m of the 50m pool).
The right side shows the work-out uploaded to Training Peaks with the distance edited from 900m to 500m. Pace was auto-recomputed by TP.
the day started with heavy traffic 😁
and the day went on full of meetings.
But at about 5pm, i went to the ladies’ room to put on my bike shorts under my corporate attire. I jumped in the car before 6pm; changed into my jersey, and was pedalling by 6:30pm.
Here’s the record of my brick session.
Building up my endurance for now.
Still a long way to go.
Rushing from work to Army Gym, we received a message that it was close for the night. We then decided to head straight to The Palms so we can still do the swim workout assignment.
In triathlon, as in life (or is it the other way around?), there may be things beyond our control, but it does not control our next move. We don’t need to turn around and go home.
There is always, should always, be a Plan B. Or C. Or D…
My 1.8km swim training for tonight:
Warm-Up: with Snorkel
4 [100m swim, 50m kick]
Drill 1: with Snorkel & Fins
4 [50m 1arm Pull, 50m swim]
Drill 2: Paddles, Fins
700m Swim (since I didn’t know how to do the 3 one arm pull left, 3 one arm pull right, then swim 6 strokes)
Set: Paddles, Buoy
100m only instead of 500m
~ still can’t swim well with Buoy
~ felt tired and hungry
Total: 1.8km instead of the scheduled 2.3km.
Recovery food for tonight is Salmon Sashimi. Hubby had his with Cha Soba 😀
Was ready to go straight to bed when we got home but then we saw our youngest daughter feeling frustrated over homework, learning to write cursive. Oh well. Mommy duties give me opportunities to bond with our little one ♥️👩❤️💋👩
